Local 943 Celebrates 60 Years

AFT Local 943 celebrated their 60th anniversary with a party held at Gaelic Park on Tuesday, October 12, 2006. Over 70 members and guests attended the party where State Senator Edward Maloney presented theLocal with a Proclamation from the 94th General Assembly of the State of Illinois on this very special occasion.

A special award was presented by Tavey Wright to IFT Chief-of-Staff Ray Mackey for his years of work and dedication to Local 943. Plaques were also presented to four members of Local 943 who were honored by the American Federation of Teachers with the "LIVING THE LEGACY AWARD". Congratulations to Audrey Bukovsky, Carol Kopacz, Dawn Stanovich, and Tavey Wright for their years of service to the union and the community.
