AFT Launches New Site on Teacher Evaluation

In conjunction with AFT president Randi Weingarten's Jan. 12 National Press Club speech, the AFT has launched a new, private Intranet site focused on one key element of the speech: teacher development and evaluation. The interactive site, which is accessible only to AFT state and local presidents and their designees, is designed to provide leaders with resources and ideas about how to advocate for their members' success in the classroom and in their profession.

The site is built around elements of a teacher development and evaluation framework that the AFT has created. An executive summary of the framework, " A Continuous Improvement Model for Teacher Evaluation ," is available on the AFT's public Web site. [ Read more.]
